Vibrant Plants is Washington State’s premier wholesale grower and distributor of quality landscape plants. By making the shopping experience easy and valuable for our customers, we strive to provide a one stop solution to Green Industry Professionals throughout our market. Since our beginning, Vibrant Plants has steadily increased product lines to include 4” container sizes up through 4” caliper trees. To supplement our own crops, our buyers bring in plant material from across the U.S. and Canada by the semi-truck load.

A bit about our history:

In the mid 1950’s Vi and Bert Gustafson founded their nursery in north Seattle. After successfully growing and moving the operation to its present Woodinville location, Vibert Nursery, as it was then called, sold to a hard and smart working German immigrant named Ernie Schuster and his wife Ann in the winter of 1967-68. From there they expanded rapidly to meet the constructions booms that occurred in the Seattle and Eastside area. Acreage was added and facilities improved both in Woodinville and at the acquired growing grounds in nearby Snohomish County.

During the 1980’s, Ernie and Ann’s youngest son, Mark earned a business degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and then worked for nurseries in Oregon, California, Switzerland and England before returning to start up his own nursery in 1991 on acreage in Snohomish. In an effort to smooth out the transition and insure success, both Ernie and Ann stayed on as employees for several years thereafter.

Where we are today:

Today Vibrant Plants fully utilizes both the 30 acre Woodinville site and the 22 acre production facility to grow and distribute more than 2000 varieties of landscape ornamental plants.  With eight delivery trucks and customers through out Washington State, Vibrant Plants can get customers what they want in a timely cost effective manner.  Alternatively, many of our landscape contractors and designers prefer to drive our fields where they know they can get inspired by the best selection of quality plants, on hand, at wholesale prices in the area.

With employees from the 1980’s and 1990’s as well as newer additions, Vibrant Plants has put together nothing short of an excellent team of managers and staff who know the local market, its customers and how Vibrant Plants can serve their needs. They continually review product offerings, customer needs and internal procedures to make sure we maintain our success well into the future.
